Jingkun Qi

Jingkun’s work is rooted in the unspeakable, abstract spiritual state and brings them into the materialized and visible state. Jingkun has a background in printmaking and contemporary art and her work has been underpinned by a conversation between emotional research and visual art practice. Her work is centered upon post-humanism and the future world; the physical and mental relationship in a blurred zone with technology and human evolution; and how these can be understood through the theological and metaphysical concepts of incarnation, resurrection, and evolution with a new God in the body.

Can emotions be visualized? This is the central question that drives my artistic journey. I seek to capture the intricate and delicate emotions within my art, particularly the negative feelings that often go unnoticed or unacknowledged, such as anxiety. These emotions, if left unaddressed, can lead to potential mental health issues.

In a world that often emphasizes peace and comfort, it is crucial to shed light on the darker aspects of our human experience. Through my lithography to evoke empathy and understanding by creating visual representations of these hidden emotions. By exploring the depths of anxiety and other negative feelings, I hope to raise awareness and encourage open discussions about mental well-being.

My art serves as a conduit for empathy allowing viewers to connect with and reflect upon their own emotions and the experiences of others. By acknowledging these complex emotions, we can foster a more compassionate and inclusive society.
