Steve Jensen

Second Scream is a self-portrait from the Sculptor/Sculpture Series. The metal sculpture depicted is mine and the artist-made frame is steel. This photo recalls the anger and frustration I felt when dealing with the illness of my former partner and the prejudice I experienced after his death. When Corona Virus struck, I experienced the same emotion. I expressed this feeling in a reinterpretation of the classic work by Munch. I felt a connection in that we are both Norwegian and he experienced illness and death 100 years ago.I photographed myself to express the fragility of life on this planet
